2/10/2021 Heart on Sleeve, 2010This blog post was originally published in 2010: Inspired by a box of Valentine's chocolates someone brought to the studio once the candy was shared. The photo is limited, but when you are up close to the painting, different things show through the paint. All the collage items have to do with a single gal struggling with her life not happening the way she thought. Dragon, watch, fitness, energy, meditation, all types of ideas show when you look carefully at the actual painting. I was that single gal before Andy came sneaking into my life. Andy and I were friends for over a year, each with different people. The first time we met, I thought "Wow! He's cute! Yeah, well, he's in a totally different life stage than me, so forget it." Well, although there is an age difference, Andy and I still work very well together. So well, that when I mentioned the age difference during my cousin's inquisition (joke), she said that she always knew that I would be with an older man! Andy and I are going on three years...and he's stuck with me (cue the old Huey Lewis song from the 1980s). Update: I’m an old married lady by now! Andy and I were married in 2012. We’ve had some CRAZY years, as crazy as 2020 is to all of us now, but we’ve had them between the two of us. Am I still happy? Hell, yeah. Andy is my better half, someone who makes me laugh, spoils me as much as I try to spoil him. He and I are stuck like glue, like the Sugarland song. Oh, Happy Valentine’s Day, all, since it’s in 4 days! Comments are closed.
