This was one of my favorite prints while making these collage papers! I figured out how to get the cracking effects that show all the layers of color like you see in this sheets.
The original paintings are 10 by 7 inches. The pieces of collage papers were scraps from other projects. Those papers were happy gelliplate printing accidents. Trying to get the colors and accidents again was fun and challenging!
This post shares some of the new collage papers I made using the gelliplate for the BIG paintings that are based on the small paintings.
The BIG paintings are 100 cm by 70 cm, or ~39 inches by 27.5 inches. The US uses inches...while most of the globe uses centimeters...so definitely NOT 10 times the size of the original, lol!

I use a few "gelliplates" at the same time to save some time.

Four hummingbirds I painted for fun and as samples and guides. Each is 8 by 8 inches, acrylics on paper.
I enjoy helping new artists paint their own sloths. You all help me learn how to be a better painter and a better art teacher, too.
With the hummingbird, you have more options of how to use the stencil.
I’ll show you how to use the stencil and then you decide how to paint your hummingbird.

This hummingbird was done with a combination of options. I did use the stencil, but I also did some freehand painting.
You might want your hummingbird like one of my designs, or you can pick your own colors and design your own hummingbird.

Andy and I just ordered our meals and I had a few minutes to draw the still life that was all ready for me at our table. The sugar packets in a tiny pot, the hand sanitizer, the napkins with their holder. I’m using a Kaweco fountain pen with sepia ink.
Before my watercolors melted, this is a sketch I did of different areas around us. I miss the colors, but I can’t pack them in my purse because they have melted. I already cleaned up the mess and stashed my kit away.
