How to contact artist Angeline-Marie
Deering Estate, April 18-19, 2009
How some art work is created by using a former palette. Some of these former palettes I call “palette paintings.”
Videos to give you a glimpse of some things that artists must do in order to stay creative, “save” a painting, or just learn how-to do different things.
My favorite is the “fairy video.” That little piece keeps me smiling when I am experiencing a painter’s block.
The videos of how-to-paint show art being created almost on the spot. Some artwork is erased and used for another project. Some of the artwork is finished at a later time or left alone because I fell in love with it (like the Fairy and the Dog).

Videos featured on eHow and TVLesson.com were filmed by Paul Louis of TCstudiosOnline.

The photo taken at the Pinecrest Gardens event in 2006: The lady behind me is my “Second Mom” Angie. This was our first paint out - and we had a blast. She passed away in January, 2007, days before our first painting trip. She is greatly missed - she is the one I hear sputter & declare “DISGUSTING!”

Biography
It All Began with Markers
When Angeline was a little one, she fell in love with the color saturation of markers. The way the ink would fill the paper with color is like how paint fills canvas. That is why she loves paint!
Dual Background
Angeline reached adulthood before she began saying "When my family arrived from Cuba...." She is Cuban-American, born in Miami, Florida, who would always include herself in the sentence as "when we arrived from Cuba." She knows she was born here, but the stories of Cuba have always influenced her.
Gringa versus Cubanita
Angeline was called "La Gringita" by her family because she was more comfortable with English until she took salsa dance lessons. Also, a friend once observed that when she is unsure or new to a situation, she acts very formally. Once Angeline is comfortable, the warm Cubanita side shines.
Miami, Florida
Angeline has always lived within Miami-Dade County. She lived in North Miami Beach, then in Kendall, and currently lives in Homestead. Miami is her home, just because she is still in Miami-Dade County.
Left Brain, Right Brain
Left brained because she taught algebra and works as an analyst. Right brained because she can see the big picuture, loves creating art, drawing, and all those other warm-fuzzy right brain activities.
Happiness Is
Angeline stays happy by making sure she gets good meals, workouts, enough sleep, and family and art time. It's the simple things in life that keep her going!
Travel
Since the age of six, traveled to Mexico, Canada, most of the USA, Europe, Egypt, and South Africa. Angeline keeps returning to Miami, Florida, because after traveling so much knows this is home.
Favorite Color
Blue is the ocean, sky, amazing rain clouds, her Papa's favorite color, happiness, star saphires...
Mind Your Own Beeswax
First look at encaustic techinques was a turn off, but after researching, has fallen in love with the possibilities of beeswax mixed with resin.
Bookworm
Fantasy, non-fiction, how to, romance trash, fitness and art magazines: Angeline's budget is usually blown on books. Favorite places to buy books are at the thrift stores.
Beach Bum
"¡Respira fuerte!," Mama would declare when arriving to the beach at the first whiff of ocean air. The ocean and beach are constants in Angeline's life, like mountains are to other people. She has to know the ocean is "right there," or it is not home.
Spanglish
Sometimes English is inadequate to express Spanish idioms and emotions. You will learn what "drowning in a glass of water," "together but not scrambled," and other things mean when you are around her. Sometimes Spanish works better than English. Angeline can speak one language or the other, but loves to mix both in her speech, especially to add flavor.
Dance and Sing
There is music on in her studio at all times: 80s Hair Bands, 80s freestyle, salsa, country, trance, chill out, classical. You will catch Angeline dancing and singing in her studio, car, and places where loud music is allowed.
Florida Marlins Baseball
Angeline has a signed baseball by Livan Hernandez...and since 1993 has followed the team. She enjoys games by listening to the enthusiastic Spanish radio commentators or through the MLB iPhone App. You have to understand that between life and life, sometimes enjoying Los Marrrrrlins has to be on-the-go.
