Gulf of Mexico Oil Spill: This Artist’s Reaction - Series name “Caliginosity”

Beginning April 26, 2010, my anger, frustration, and pain translated into abstract landscapes influenced by media photos of the oil spill, birds, fish, those who live by the sea, and surrounding areas.

This series, Caliginosity, now includes 16 completed original art paintings about the Gulf of Mexico Deepwater Horizon Event. By October, 2010, most of the outrage about the oil spill has been dispersed or contained by time and the media. However, repercussions and more facts are still being released to the public on an almost weekly basis. Now, Japan’s earthquake, tsunami, and nuclear power plant events are the focus of the media.

As work is completed, it is posted on my blog. Some of these art works may be repeated throughout my Small Art Work - Mostly Encaustic and Landscapes pages.
